I’m actually a man but this song speaks deeply to my experience growing up. Being the youngest, when instructions were given to all of us, I couldn’t understand the nuances behind it, so while my siblings understood why for instance we couldn’t have romantic partners at that age, I just thought “romance = bad” and carried that thought on my back for many years. My eyes were covered when kissing scenes came up and I didn’t know what sex was till I was 11. Fast forward to when I was 13, a friend of mine showed me anime 🌽, that opened Pandora’s box for me. I became very curious about sex but with no one teach me as I was scared to ask my parents, I turned to 🌽 educate me. Each time I watched it I felt disgusted with myself but I could not stop because it was the only form of intimacy I knew I could engage in without any actual consequence. I never had the talk with my parents(awkward as it may be) and I really wish they gave it to me, I’ve built such an unhealthy relationship with sex, intimacy and romance that I practically cannot get a partner cause I self sabotage to prevent it from happening. For a while I thought my desires were evil and hated myself for it. I know now that sex itself isn’t bad but it’s really hard to shake this.

Not sure if this is intentional- But the rabbit ears on the character reminded me of how rabbits don't have vocal chords, and therefore can't make distress noises unless under severe stress; And it hurts them when they make those noises. It made me think of how quiet the character must've been/is about what happened.... If that makes sense !

Listening to Chocolate Box after Taxidermy is so bittersweet because the one connection they really have is rooted in sexual abuse. The ways they contrast is amazing and pretty important for people to see; CB remembers everything that happened to her and is terrified of ever falling in love again and while Taxi doesn't remember her trauma, she's clearly hypersexual as a result of the event. I’m really glad this song was made. As a trans girl, I obviously know that this song is more for and about the afab experience, but I can’t help but feel a connection tbh. It feels like all the things I felt I had to live up to in order to be considered a “real woman” by society. And the part about “urges” also spoke to me in two way: Both in the normal, more conventional sexual way (where anything I take pleasure in is going to be considered deviant by society just due to who I am) but also in the almost perverse honor I felt in being objectified by men. I felt that if I was feminine enough to be objectified, catcalled, etc. I was finally able to consider myself a “real woman”. (Also not to mention the bonkers notion of “autogynephilia” that exists in some people’s heads.) But that’s just my two cents, and while I’m in a better place now, this song really spoke to my earlier experiences in transition. Thank you.

I was thinking the pro-"life" imagery and bible quotes alongside animals that were killed just to serve as display pieces (I noticed even the sign about the OCTOPUS has a bible verse cited for no reason???) is very reminiscent of the state I grew up in. Lo and behold, it literally is in NC. 💀 I'm not great with words, but the theme of contradictions between the "values" we're ingrained with from a young age vs the general disregard for life in culture, plus the cognitive dissonance it creates, really resonates with me.

As a trans-masc, I used to want to be mistreated like the men of my class were (I.e being told to man up and having all your emotions downplayed and mocked) because it would make feel like I was actually considered a man rather than this freak that can only play pretend. “Since I was a girl, I never felt like a person.” It hurts how much I relate to this. For the longest time I didn’t even know who I was, I felt disgusted with myself as a girl. Going by They/them pronouns has helped me so much figuring out who I am again. It helped me take back my identity, and be who I want to be. I’m a girl, but I’ll never forget how important identity and pronouns were to me. (I still go by they/them to this day just alongside she/her.) It has really shown me how strong the trans community (or LGBTQ+ in general) is. Happy pride, I hope you’re all showered with love and support. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As an afab person who was abducted to a fascist state and barely escaped not so long ago when it felt like coming back from war, seeing this actually being recognised as a problem brought me to tears.

I'm transmasc with (what I'm guessing to be) Hypersexuality disorder, and secual trauma of some sort (almost every afab in my life has been sexually assaulted, I'm afraid I'm next. Also i had unrestricted access to the Internet at a young age.), and this song and character page hit so hard for me. Need to be pure, need to be sinful. Need to keep safe, need to let loose. Need to practice abstinence, need to give in to temptation. A reminder of what I'm supposed to be, carried on my body, a reminder of what I'm supposed to do, supposed to create, as much as the mere idea sickens me. I've envisioned myself as a rotting prey animal in vent art, so it jurs hits even closer when considering that.
